For some reason this reminds me of Ed's comment on the podcast some time ago about how Cardinal Becciu was confused by the reaction to his nepotistic awarding of no-bid construction contracts because it's not such a big deal in Italy and I imagine Europe generally, at least to folks of a certain age.
