I'm curious about the survey question regarding “The sole path to salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ.” I would probably have to say that I agreed somewhat, because I understand that people (through invincible ignorance, for example) can be saved in ways that ultimately come from Jesus Christ, but without their being baptized of members of the Church, or even knowing about it or Christ. Saying I strongly agree would (to me) mean I didn't think they could be saved, but saying I 'agreed somewhat" sounds too much like I am indifferent and I think everyone is probably going to be saved. So if I am hesitant to commit to one of those, I don't want to form an opinion of what it means for priests to say so. This seems to me to be a very different question to evaluate than "I am not likely to quit," or "I'm very satisfied with my life."
You quoted my wife’s article from The Plough. That made her very happy (I think ;) )
Thanks!
