This is why the hospitality ministry is so important in parishes: coffee after Sunday Mass, KofC pancake breakfast, Thursday morning donuts, Saturday night potluck … that’s how you make a bunch of lonely people into a community. And the beautiful thing is, all you need to do, in general, is to give the Altar Society a space and permission … I see this work wonders in our parish.

Maybe the Pillar should combat this problem by encouraging “Readers of the Pillar” groups of some sort.
