It turns out that because Europe doesn’t observe Daylight Savings Time until next week, it’s only a five hour time difference. You all know my feelings about DST. This is just further proof that I am right: it’s a godless and unnatural action that is costing lives, and now quite possibly souls, too.

It's more like a superdense neutron star, whose atoms have collapsed into a mess of protons, neutrons, and electrons; the gravitational effects are similar, in that it would cause a time dilation that would cause things to stretch out and last seemingly forever, but they never go away.

Well, yes and no. Canon 403 §3 allows for coadjutor bishops, who have the right of succession. (Sometimes such an appointment seems to me to be a pope's way of saying: 'Here's your zucchetto, what's your hurry?') Perhaps you can think of this situation as akin to having a (non-voting) coadjutor Supreme Court justice? There's something Capetian about it.
