It is not clear to me what the editors mean by the phrase "senior knights". In the Order's hierarchy, all members of the First Class (Knights of Justice who take religious vows; Professed Conventual Chaplains) come before members of the Second Class (those who have taken the promise of obedience), and finally members of the Third Class (the largest number of members).
I wanted to comment on this article but am so infuriated and saddened that I can think of nothing kind to say but thank you for the article and for keeping up with the saga.
