When will the territories of Germany be placed under interdict? No sacraments, removal of all faculties, sees are suppressed, everywhere within Germany’s borders. Clerics can apply, on a case-by-case basis, to a commission of the Apostolic Penitentiary to have their penalty lifted. Restored bishops have their sees become “exempt dioceses” directly subject to the Apostolic See. It’s clear Rome can’t do effective diplomacy, and that the Germans take inaction as weakness and expect silence as permission.

I just can’t see another successful resolution to this problem. What else could Rome do at this point that it hasn’t already? I’m genuinely open to hearing alternatives
