It's worth noting that while Williamson had his excommunication lifted in 2009, it was immediately followed by a furor over an interview where he denied the scale of the Holocaust. The Vatican demanded an apology and retraction, and Bishop Fellay of the SSPX apologized to Pope Benedict and forbade Williamson from speaking publicly on politics and history. His episcopal functions were suspended indefinitely due to his refusal to recant his Holocaust denial. Williamson then performed 100 unauthorized confirmations in Brazil, and after responding to an SSPX order to declare his obedience with a call for the Superior General thereof to resign, the SSPX booted him. In 2015 he ordained a former SSPX priest as a bishop, incurring an immediate latae sententiae excommunication *and* condemnation from the SSPX. He's since continued to espouse conspiracy theories, Holocaust denial, and anti-Semitic views, while forming a splinter group called "SSPX Resistance" with other illicitly consecrated bishops. Which is all to say, this guy, who's too radioactive for the SSPX, is the one who ordained the man currently palling around with the Poor Clares. The mind boggles.

Odd how many of these breakaway religious orders have property-related disputes with the local ordinary. I'm kinda curious whether that's an actual correlation or just an anomalous blip.
