« What we need, what we lack, and what the Church offers, is the necessary medicine to this — to love your neighbor as yourself. Announcing that in an age of political hatred and violence is not easy, nor especially pleasant. But, that is the mission of a Christian. »
Amen. May we be given the courage to proclaim this boldly, and may the Lord preserve our hearts from hatred.
"JD tells me that the NHL expansion team the Colorado Avalanche are set to win the Stanley Cup tonight."
Just a small note of clarification, in fact the Avalanche are not an expansion team, but were relocated from Quebec City in 1995... and won 2 previous Stanley Cups prior to winning their third on Sunday night. So in fact, the Avalanche have been in Colorado for 27 years... probably longer that JD himself has been there! :)
I think that prioritizing membership over geography would help both our Church and our politics. We could fix gerrymandering and the political rancor and have better quality politicians if everyone just was allowed to "subscribe" to one politician. Whoever got 1 million subscribers would be a representative. Everyone could just vote for the person whom they thought was the best representative of their views. We could keep the secret ballot for the other positions, but have membership based politics for the House.
Good stuff, enjoyed the read, especially on the financial side of the news
Looking forward to the new material Mr. Luke will bring!
Excellent insights as always!

***"and at $5 a month, a subscription is now cheaper than a gallon of gas, lasts a lot longer, and leaves a better taste in your mouth."***
But don't try this at home.

As for the rest, great coverage as always!
