Our family is on our fourth year or so of "Cake Week"--we have cake in the house pretty much continuously during the Easter octave. When one cake is finished, we just make another, until Divine Mercy Sunday. It's a really easy tradition that makes the octave feel celebratory the whole time. You're not stuck with your least favorite candy out of the basket by Easter Friday--you're getting a fresh cake! It's Easter! Hooray!

Maybe this isn't true everywhere, but add to the Triduum the marathon of confessions. I heard solid for 12 hours in the days prior to the triduum. May not seem like much, but its part of the picture of a full Holy Week. Fr. Owen Korte
