Just a great pod guys! "Doing what we say on the tin." Indeed. And thanks to Ed who has given me a wonderful new British idiom (is it really an idiom? discuss). In any case, my dog Mac and I thoroughly enjoyed it on our walk today in the sunny CO spring. Though he has a terribly difficult time with the earbuds.

I’m picturing promotional material with two bloodhounds wearing Pillar t-shirts and an EC hat on one and a cowboy hat on the other. I bet someone good at AI could generate it for you.

I still remember watching Cardinal Cupich on the floor of the 2018 USCCB meeting say something like "we can't trust ourselves to not to hold each other accountable" when the McCarrick scandal removed any credibility for the bishops to hold each other accountable.

I get that the metropolitan model has its benefits but it was simply tone deaf af and I'm still bitter.

Always love your podcasts, but a few thoughts:

1. Vos Estis concerns a grave topic. I know we've been flogging this horrid reality for over 20 years, and it's natural to be punchy about the unseriousness of some prelates to facilitate justice, but my guess is that there are, in your listening audience, more victims of sexual abuse (of all sorts, in and out of the Church) than there are members of the Syro-Malabar archeparchy, and whose subsequent wounds might be exacerbated by the [seeming] light-hearted banter. You guys have a great chemistry, but you might want to tone it down a bit when considering the heart of the matter. Thanks.

2. "... any person in a state of infirmity, physical or mental deficiency, or deprivation of personal liberty, which, in fact, even occasionally limits their ability to understand ..."

So Canon Law scribes have succumbed to those ubiquitous forms of bad grammar that refuse to link properly subjects with their appropriate pronouns? Sad!

3. All said, pettifogging is a great word that everyone should know.
