I actually am glad that someone recognizes that regular hats are OK. I think a myth has somehow arisen that mantillas were the form mandated by the Church before Vatican II, whereas in fact they were worn fairly seldom in the U.S. Any photo from the period will show hats instead.
VERY interesting! But as a man of (obviously) deep spirituality the new fact that I took away most from this podcast was that Ed is a smoker and as a fellow smoker that earns The Pillar my lifetime subscription fidelity...have to support the social leper brotherhood!!
