Why should the pope cater to Putin's altar boy? Kyrill has chosen genocide over the Gospel. He has "blessed" people and objects going to kill the innocent. As mentioned in the article above he tacitly dismisses the papal office and still the last two popes and this one yearned to go to Russia. To believe that Francis will admonish Kyrill is wishful thinking. The days of Cannosa are long past.

Better the pope ask to meet with the other four Patriarchs of the Pentarchy (of which Moscow is not a member) in a neutral location. They may come, they may not come but if they did then a truly fraternal (in actions, not words) gathering might speak to the world about the heresiarch Kyrill. This could begin a closer relationship with Orthodoxy.
