The inclusion of Becciu here is odd. He wasn't incarcerated, so what criterion is being used? "Cardinals who have been accused of wrongdoing" would be a much much longer list! And "modern Cardinals who have been accused of wrongdoing" would eliminate at least Fisher from the list, and possibly the mid-20th-century cardinals as well.
Let's not forget Patriarch Joseph of the UGCC (named a Cardinal, although Patriarchs should rank before Cardinals) who also was tortured and did hard labor in prison and was forced to move to Rome as part of "ostpolitik". Cardinal Mindszenty also comes to mind. Both were Confessors of the Faith betrayed by Rome's "diplomacy".
