It seems that the Church has gone from the practice of trying to rehabilitate priests and bishops who were accused of abuse to throwing them under the bus if any allegation is made.
Civil law defends the theory that a person is innocent until proven guilty by a cadre of jurors. Canon law seems to promulgate the theory that one is guilty till proven innocent by a group of Bishops thousands of miles away without any knowledge of the person accused.A real Jesus type of justice.
