Given the total collapse of morals and ethics in our Magisterium, taking the focus from the high and mighty and putting it on the "average" person makes so much sense. Frankly, listening to Bishops (and Popes) who hide pedophiles (before you YELL-read about the Holy Father and Bishop Juan Barros of Chile) makes me ill. Then there's the Gay Cabaret scandals report that neither Benedict nor Francis have chosen to make Public. How many minors were affected by members of the Curia doing their things? We'll never know...

Shared ... you guys do yeoman's work ... would love a follow-up about the +Cupich/+Gregory letter that apparently included the signatures of bishops who either didn't agree to sign it or never saw it and sadly, most of the Catholic press isn't asking

Shared with my family. Like I told them, I appreciate that your investigative work presses into aspects of the Church that I could easily try to ignore because of how uncomfortable it makes me. But your apparent love and respect for the Church - even as your anger and frustration with many of her sons is evident - leaves me feeling I can trust your motives, helps me keep my head out of the sand, and leaves me with hope in the midst of it all. And you do it all with a sense of humor which is alway helpful!

Shared it on my Facebook profile. I am so so appreciate of y’all’s work. This is what I said about you:

We love to read The Pillar. Editors JD Flynn and Ed Condon are incredibly smart and savvy, but most importantly, deeply honest and faithful. Their project of deep dive investigative journalism in the church and the world is very much needed. And their love of the church is palpable. Hard to find both these days.

I’m sharing this with you to encourage you to read their work as well!

How do I thank you for renewing my faith in the hope of turning the institution towards faith? For 70 yrs I believed the church had a big tent for all to enter; now, many are not welcomed in. It is hard to right the ship of a large institution. Thanks for your courage.

I regularly share links and stories with my husband, who dials in pretty closely to secular news but can easily miss what's up in the Church.

It's excellent work that you're doing here, but I admit I really subscribed because I appreciate the opportunity to have my own take on events honestly challenged rather than shouted down or trashed. It's easy to think that if only we all had the same information in front of us, we would all agree, but there are lots of prudential areas where men of goodwill can legitimately differ. I find it's very rare to see that acknowledged, and I catch myself forgetting it all the time now. So, thanks for the reminder.
