"Though I don’t believe that he was able to comprehend the severity of his crimes, he sought to be the best he could be for God. " That's an aspect of I still find irritating? With all that is known about the impact of sexual abuse on any person, how can anyone not comprehend it?

"People often express their values with their money....." This is perfect. Wouldn't you then thinkn our Archdiocese of Cincinnati should then reward the MANY who have gone down and sat in those office chairs and asked for some type of monetary help for their lifelong mental and physical scars of the abuse they suffered at the hands of clergy or lay people under their leadership? I wonder just how many victims were told to pound salt when they went to ask for something... an apology, a simple expression "of their values". But no. And this article is what I would say is our church's great long time tradition of perfect timing. We had the McWilliams case and then the Drew plea deal. We had personal testimony at the end of the court proceeding from the victim and wife (which every Catholic should hear) and now, we get this article, showing the world that the Archdiocese of Cincinnati was kind enough to award this victim a (very) small expression of apology and look... this victim came back and helped the church gain another $168 million for their good works. Timing.

PS.. forgiveness and grace are beautiful, but the many many many victims that are discarded by our church can not be forgotten. We need change.
