This might be my favorite type of article you guys run. I know you did something similar last time when there were other potential saints up for a "vote". So interesting to learn about Americans (and a lot of times recent ones at that) who probably aren't that well known outside of their local area but have a cause and a local devotion. Maybe there's a way you could make this a monthly feature where you find an open cause and give a little biography of that person, maybe even an interview about that person.
I'll agree. It is a nice reminder to offer up little things. I don't pretend to understand how or why my little sufferings make anything else better, but it's nice to see folks who are considered role models doing it; particularly as a parent without much time for more (or so it feels). Even better when the models were recognized for it while being not widely known as a celebrity. Feels more attainable.
