"The priest claims to have sent a report to then-prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, Cardinal Robert Prevost in November 2024, and then again in December 2025 to Prevost after he had been elected pope, but says he did not receive a response, InfoVaticana said."

I really hoped we were past this (redacted) after going through this with Francis and Zanchetta, et al. I'm sure The Pillar will keep us updated on this story but I hope and pray it's not as bad as it sounds.

The response is the current investigation and Santasierro temporarily stepping down. Every accused bishop or priest has to be thoroughly investigated before he is disciplined or removed. Pope Leo XIV is doing exactly that in this case.

I guess so. But a priest submitting a report about this, then having to re-submit after an entire year of nothing happening isn’t exactly a stellar response by Rome.

Excellent reporting. While I retain my personal veto, I have come to trust your work. Santasiero is facing a steep uphill. Heartbreaking to read. Acts contrary to virtue are the exception among clergy, but they add up, and it’s demoralizing to read about it. Now for the antidote. A short Irish-American bishop with a quick tongue and a heart as big as the universe. Former Kalamazoo bishop James Murray of happy memory. Enjoy. 🌹 https://creyna.substack.com/p/the-bishop-on-chippewa-lake-a9f1d4d13cac
