As much as the world wants to heal from this tragedy, the local community needs it more. Any press inside would have made it much less likely that massgoers could heal in this moment.
I can feel God's presence and the grace received by all who were there directly through the article here. Such a powerful moment for this parish and hopefully a wonderful future ahead.
No, Bishop. Many of us could and did. Please think before offering platitudes. Your job is to speak truth, even when it makes you and others uncomfortable. Please, also, explain your endorsement of a non-Catholic to represent your diocese at the Synod on Synodality. Please also explain your ongoing endorsement of St. Joan of Arc Parish, which has proudly engaged in grave liturgical abuse since the 1980's. Gloria Steinem gave the homily there when I was a kid. So did a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. That BS has never stopped.
This article is a beautiful description of the rite to purify a desecrated church, not a commentary on a Bishop’s actions or inactions. In respect for this community, I put forth that your complaints against this Bishop, regardless of how legitimate might be, are inappropriate here.
Let us instead pray for the souls of those murdered, tragically gone in their early years. Let us also pray for peace in that hurting community and healing for their psychological anguish from this trauma. Would that not be more fitting than your anger being expressed in the comments section?
Kindly take your commentary about “endorsement”, “Gloria Steinem” and other “BS” to another forum. It is unbecoming of a charitable Christian to do so in light of the events that led to this. God rest their sweet souls.
Curious as to why Mass continues to be celebrated in the gym and what is meant by establishing a sacramental schedule. Are there concerns about too many outsiders attending? Curious, not critical.
Amen.
Why wouldn’t they have wanted this to be televised?

I can understand why they would want this moment/liturgy to be just for them.
