National "Catholic" Reporter is no more Catholic than the pretend priests they report on. The competent authority has already told them to cease in identifying themselves as Catholic. I find it ironic that in an article on competent authorities not being clear in regards to the application of the law, you identify that paper as "Catholic press". They in reality are not.

Ironically, I doubt the Episcopal Church would recognize the validity of these ordinations, unless they recognize the validity of the supposed women bishop ordaining them. Any insight on that angle?

Archbishop Wester will not excommunicate Tropeano, because he is a member of the AUSCP which advocates for women priests. He may mouth the words that this is bad when pressed to do so and in the spotlight, but he is very prominent member and spiritual leader in the AUSCP. My guess is that this location was chosen strategically because of Archbishop Wester's support for women priests. He is one of those corrupt bishops who brings in his pedophile friends to stay at a retreat center next door to a Catholic school and keeps in more regular contact with the defrocked pedophile than his own active priests and hates tradition. The two Cardinals who attended his ordination were "Uncle Ted" McCarrick and "Coverup as an Art Form" Mahoney. Fellow Quinn protoge and good friend McElroy out of San Francisco was warned by Richard Sipes of McCarrick's predations and did nothing. McElroy did nothing, of course, because anyone close to the McCarrick knew he was a serial predator, and men like Wester and McElroy didn't care.

Do they not know they have excommunicated themselves in the eyes of God?

These repeated failures of leadership create an environment of laissez-faire that misleads the faithful, especially the poorly catechized and/or marginal Catholics, to believe that such abominations are "no big deal." These bishops saw off the very branch upon which they sit: the failure to regularly exercise their authority means that, when exercised, it will be disregarded and denigrated. As a retired military officer, it reminds me of officers who allowed their soldiers to call them by their first name. Very quickly, it eroded the authority of their rank and office and they became "mascots" that nobody respected, much less obeyed. These foolish members of the McCarrick Mafia, like their patron, will experience a similar fate. They will leave their dioceses in disarray and destitution as the truly faithful cease participation and the heterodox and the heretics do whatever they please. "In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

ps - Maybe The Pillar should consider an investigative report that compares these mascot dioceses with those of more faithful, orthodox bishops.

this schism is creating a new religion which is protestant in form such as Luther and must be ignored and taken care of by God, the Ultimate Judge. pray for them all. K. Wood
