This is because if you occupy a church and, therefore, you are preventing Mass from being celebrated, this is a definite evil brought on by demonic influence. I don't remember TLM supporters ever doing this: preventing a Roman-rite parish from celebrating a Novus Ordo Mass by blocking the church. I think the leaders of the protests and the priests supporting them should still be excommunicated, even after the compromise, for the evil way they protested.
