“An action that involves remote cooperation in evil is permissible, or even encouraged, when there are grave moral reasons that are proportional to or outweigh moral badness of this cooperation.”

Remote cooperation with evil is encouraged? Permissible, fine. But encouraged?! No, thank you.

This higher moral ground stance (you’re “good” if you take this vaccine and “meh” if you don’t) does not seem to take into account that the supposed herd protective effect has not been shown in literally any studies. Dr Fauci himself as well as the manufacturers have said as much.

I am neither a theologian nor a doctor, but I have read enough (thousands of hours of research on vaccines in general and hundreds on this one in particular) to know that this stance is cowardly at best and quite possibly evil.

The gruesome practice of aborting fetuses for medical purposes continues to this day and the remote cooperation this author is claiming isn’t so remote if you contribute to a culture of death that says this type of thing is as long as it’s for the “greater good.”

I don’t need a fancy degree to know what is right and wrong, and to know that the evil that continues to be done to the unborn in the name of “medicine” and “progress” won’t stop until Catholics stand together against this type of so-called advance in science. The vaccine was not necessary: cures in the early stages of COVID have proven remarkably effective, in particular using HCQ and Ivermectin as widescale excellent results in countries such as India show. Thus, one of the fundamental criteria of the CDF statement falls. Why have so few sincere Catholics not raised questions as to why these treatments (applied in the precocious stages) have been so aggressively suppressed in Western democracies while in Africa and India they are having such undeniable success?

Thank you both for all the work you do here, it’s so refreshing to see genuine and thorough reporting that also doesn’t lack in charity or zeal for the church and it’s members.

It’s an amazing service for young catholics like me (and all catholics too of course).

God bless you and keep up the good work!

FYI - Ryan Anderson’s book is currently listed as out of stock at Ignatius Press (linked above). That could be the reason it not on Amazon?

Re: The article about synods.

This was the first I heard about the synod on synodality in 2022. That honestly sounds like a headline straight from the Onion.

The COVID-19 vaccine does not prevent transmission, as stated by Fauci, which is why it is recommended to continue to wear masks and social distance even after receiving the vaccine. Thus the Common Good argument is not applicable. Since 99.7% of those testing positive either have no symptoms, have mild symptoms, and if they do, they recover, why the aggressive push for a vaccine that is admittedly experimental, may have severe side effects, including death, and when there are proven successful treatments such as the Israeli “cure”, Ivermectin, etc? Imagine the tragedy of a healthy person getting the vaccine to prevent Covid and instead dying from the vaccine? That is horrific. We also must resist mandating treatments, especially when those who benefit monetarily face no consequences when those treatments cause harm.

I'm a fan. You delivered big time investigative reporting on the Vatican Bank scandal and I appreciated the Lenten reflection on how we are self isolating do to covid in ways that are unhealthy. That resonated in my conscience. I paid because you promised research and investigation.

Really disappointed in your Sarah coverage. Can we have a summary on the conservative Bishops like Chaput who were retired almost immediately at 75 versus the ones who serve years beyond after they submitted their retirement. Might we see "a trend"? For Ed to say "maybe just a wider reshuffle..." and JD to write "forgone conclusion" i.e. no big deal.... maybe just the impulsive Francis" makes light of this, is confusing or worse disingenuous. Both your writings makes it look like this is a head scratcher.

The Cardinals and bishops are no fools. They know the symbolism of everything they do. To dismiss this Prince in a very irregular way was a strong message to those who might speak about long held traditions in the Church. 'If you want to keep your job or get promoted you must follow the new wind blowing through Francis."

Prominent Bishops seem to have noticed and are aligning themselves with this current; while thankfully there are a few who are now speaking out against this tide.

I just shared this Explainer with a friend who has been badgering me with anti vaccine hysteria for several months - I held off ‘document exchange’ until now - thanks for the work you are doing in this area and on many other fronts

I love how people try justifying the remote participation in evil by taking a vaccine created with HEK293 for example. First, let's make it more remote participation and say the cells came from a Jew murdered in the Holocaust. Do you feel better? Second, the cell line was grown from a live vivisected kidney from a baby girl. It was not some posthumous sample taken after the fact. To simplify, it is the same reason we do not turn off the life support machines prior to taking most organ donations from a brain dead human. The act of stopping the heart and respiration involves immediate degradation of most tissues. Everyone keeps harping on science, yet is IGNORANT of basic science. Human Embryonic Kidney 293rd attempt, is what HEK 293 stands for. They were not using dead kidneys. They remove the living baby(which is developed enough for the kidneys and other organs to be very easily identified) vivisect the kidney and then murder the human baby girl.

Don't sugarcoat the reality with your philosophical nonsense and babbling.
