Without getting into my credentials, what I do for a living, etc let's just say I read complex business and academic documents every day and I still have no idea what the synod report on emerging issues was trying to say, how gay male couples are relevant to Serbian non-violence movements, or how a "paradigm shift" in how we read and interpret Scripture changes Church teaching on same-sex relations. I did manage to "get" that a gay guy complained about Courage. I somehow doubt that the gay people who find that organization helpful (I know some of them) were given equal opportunity to speak and have their views recorded.

I'm really glad the synodal groups committed to releasing all their documents in clear, accessible, jargon-free language, so they could be easily read and understood by the majority of the Church, not just insiders. /s
