Is it possible that a Church designation of instituted catechists as lay "ministers" could be employed to strengthen the Church's rights in the "ministerial exemption" battles over employment of people living contrary to the Faith or professing heresies? I.e. maybe religious employers could have a requirement for certain school personnel to be "instituted catechists" if the selection and authorization and formation of instituted catechists was carefully overseen by the diocese?
