Good morning, readers and friends. You’re reading this after The Pillar has completed our first week of operations, and again I thank you for your support, your story tips, and your considerable feedback — especially the reader who wrote in to tell us that Ed’s newsletter is “funnier than JD’s.” Very kind, thank you.
I have to let you both know that although the podcast topics from this week are not what you wanted to discuss, I very much appreciated hearing what you did discuss. I have always tried searching for news outlets that deliver truth, but also commentary that would lead me toward "right" thinking that was truly Catholic. It is so very easy to get pulled away. It struck me when you called out the Jansenism of our time. I will use that comment when browsing the other apostolate I subscribe. I see how, over time, these can subtlety change and I need to reevaluate periodically. Thank you again for your service.
I’ve really enjoyed both of your work with The Pillar so far. Thank you for sharing your reporting and insights with us.
Echoing another commenter here: I was also intrigued by the mention of Jansenism in your most recent podcast, and I’d be very interested in reading an analysis piece regarding the danger of movements or figures in the Church who may be leaning toward different ancient heresies. I believe that both Jansenism and Gnosticism have been mentioned, if memory serves. I’d be interested to hear more about where and how you see shades of these heresies in contemporary ecclesial discourse.
Thank you for all that you do. I look forward to reading more of your work!
