Lust for power and greed corrupt everyone and everything without exception, even the men in the hierarchy of the Church—so much so that they seem to be marks of the Church. But this is not new. Until the hierarchical Church, from pope to parish priest, confesses its sins, does penance, and reforms it will never again be taken seriously. Our eyes are opened and we cannot unsee how far these men are from Christ and how they don’t even try to strive after holiness despite the political show they put on. Francis included. Forgive me for being jaded but I am a victim of clerical abuse, both sexual and spiritual, and I’m so very tired.
My faith is in Christ alone, not the men in the Church.
I stick my head up reluctantly to be shot at by this community, but I propose that the reason the phrase calling out abortion alone as an affront to the dignity of human life is just that - it isn't the only one. Republicans and dems in majority republican districts or states are generally opposed to calling out, say, the death penalty as one such affront (along with how we treat the aging population, how we address hunger, homelessness, etc.). My guess is that, as in legislative battles, so with this statement. Both are acting out of political expediency. Both should stop.
I've tried mightily to find a copy online of the nearly 5,000 properties owned by APSA but have this far been unsuccessful. Has anyone else been able to find it?
Does the money sent to Aid to the Church in Need go through the Vatican financial system?
