Can we just get this over with already?

Will be interesting to see what USCCB thinks is a summary of all our talking points. Probably wont' be anything too exciting, but hope it's good

The time, the money, the effort that has gone into this ridiculous nonsense is amazing.

This is not what a synod is meant to be. As contentious as they can be true synodal governing is found among the Orthodox. Having one man making and unmaking the rules is ahistorical, led to the mess we are in and is not faithful to Holy Scripture of Sacred Tradition.

I kind of feel bad for all those papolatrists in the time of JPII and Benedict 16. They fawned on these men and their ultrmontanism has been disappointed when we have a pope like Francis. Maybe they will learn from this.

Immediate, universal jurisdiction for the bishop of Rome might have been "developing" through the ages but is not about primacy but about power, hubris and abuse of authority. Nowhere in our authentic Tradition can the teaching in "Pastor Aeternus" be found. As Pius IX was alleged to say, "Tradition, I AM Tradition". Whether he actually said these words or not the bent praxis is still with us.

How did people actually get invited to these sessions? I go to Mass faithfully and have no idea that any sort of synodal session was ever advertised in my diocese. I would have participated given the chance.
