Without a background in international law, this would seem to open a significant "pandora's box." If the Vatican could successfully prosecute extraterritorial journalists for violating Vatican law, then there would seem to be nothing to prevent The Netherlands (as a random example) from prosecuting a Vatican official for writing "Dignitas Infinita."

I'm not sure what he thinks will happen if he manages to get a conviction.

They can bar the blogger from coming into Vatican City? They can block the website within VC? Because they can't do anything in Italy itself. These are different nations.
