The UGCC does have a true synodal nature already. Rome, of course has to still have it's cotton picking hands in some things and has been little help to the Ukrainian Catholics in recent history.
True synodalism is more like what the Ukrainians or Melkites have than the poor Ruthenians ("sui juris," but that seems to really mean nothing). If Catholics want to look at true sobornicity they need to look to the Orthodox...yes, it's messier but not as messy as Francis' so called "Synod on synodality" or the German mess.
