This made me excited to read JD’s upcoming stories about his time in Chiclayo! Safe travels, JD.
I liked Ed’s advice to the newly married couple (congrats to Abbey and Charlie!), but 25 minutes praying together can sound a little daunting. I might suggest starting with praying the morning offering and the prayer of St. Michael the Archangel together and build up from there.
When my husband and I met with our priest for our first marriage prep meeting, he put to us what was obviously his go-to first assignment for newly engaged couples: to start praying together. We told him that we already prayed the rosary together every day before 6:15 am daily Mass. He spun slowly in his chair, obviously trying to figure out what to do with us next.
Tonight, we prayed the rosary before bed, at the insistence of our toddler son, who tried to wrap a rosary around his foot for the majority of the decades.
Loved the interesting papal feedback from Chiclayo. Really loved the canonical examination of conscience for self! So good even for those not canonically minded. Looking forward to reading more about Peru and Pope Leo XIV.
I don’t care what they’re discussing. Some days I just need to listen to a conversation between Ed and JD.
Congratulations and felicitations, Abbey and Charlie!! May you have many joyful years together.

The family that prays together, stays together.
