In fairness to the National Catholic Reporter journalist, it's a brutal assignment to have to cover bishops being faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
What stood out to me was that the bishops are in financial crisis with massive overhead that they can't pay for anymore. Which is exactly what critics of the article saying there was no financial motivation for the bishops to support immigration were saying all along. It turns out the cuts did produce a financial crisis after all.
If the bishops had cared at all about the child and human trafficking that they enabled and assisted with through their resettlement programs, I might actually feel a bit sad that their funds got cut. As it is, I'm glad. They helped funnel over $5 billion a year to the cartels through their human trafficking operations and bear some responsibility for the violence that money produced on the other side of the border (e.g., mayors getting murdered, as happened last week), to say nothing of the tens of thousands of kids who entered without proper vetting of their guardians. It seems like every week there is another story like this.
It would be nice to have the new breviary before its use becomes mandatory.
A suggestion for an article: You referred (I believe) to Bishop Rhodes as one of the more respected Bishops among his peers. So who are the Bishops that most people have never heard of who may not be on the path to promotion, but are well respected?
I really want to come to a live show someday. Apparently, it is a requirement that all of the sites must be near the ocean because a live show or Pillar gathering has never occurred in a state that is triple landlocked.
