Can anyone answer whether or not churches in Germany have an offertory collection during mass? Just wondering because of the church tax already imposed…

I lived in Germany and attended Mass weekly- I remember many other things I clocked as aberrations about Mass there (not all 3 readings were read at Sunday Mass, usually we wouldn’t say the entire creed, some other truly strange things in some places) but I don’t recall about the collection- which may mean they did have one, as I don’t remember that in the list of weird things. I’m sure there are German readers here who actually know…

When visiting Germany a decade ago there was not, and we were told to not make any sort of donation to the parish we visited
