These people - I address myself charitably to them if they are reading - need to man up and repent. The first step is to ask for the grace to do so and in case they have not got around to it due to not even wanting to (many such cases; I certainly didn't), I will ask for it on their behalf (actually I will ask the BVM to get it for them because not only is she much better at interceding than I am, she also enjoys interceding more than I do. This is in both cases, granted, a low bar.) This is serious business, but I don't think they understand that it is serious business, and this is because with repetition it is possible to dull the sense that a particular thing is wrong to do (and then bigger wrong things might seem not so bad, or even not wrong at all). This doesn't make it stop being wrong to do, like removing the battery from a smoke detector when some toast is burning does not make the toast not-burning (and then, bigger fires, as big as you like, also do not set off the alarm, because of deliberately dulling the sense that things are on fire.)

With friends like these who needs enemies?

Pena Parrà absolutely needs a new job. Preferably somewhere like the Falkland Islands where he can have a good think about where he went wrong.
