I think of all the things that are frustrating about the human dimension of the Church right now, I think I have the least patience for power-mongering ambitious types. Things that are objectively far more grave--for example the SSPX's schism, or the constant German headache--at these those come, ultimately, from earnest faith and the desire to do good, albeit misguided to some degree of gravity. But bs like the stuff around this guy I just am sick of.
Nah I’m sick of all of it. I think the root of all these, while varying in gravity, are all ambition and power mongerring. All of it.
Nobody concerned with earnest faith sells schism merch and nor does a desire to do good mean you do whatever you want, even when the Vatican says no before, during and after.
The Germans are FAR further into schism than the SSPX. Let's keep it objective. Offering the Mass which created saints for almost a thousand years is different than creating liturgies for sane sex couples and allowing lay people to give homilies.
This is not true, words matter and the comparison you draw has nothing to do with "schism". Per Canon 751: "schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him."
The German church has plenty of serious issues, but they've never as a group outright refused to submit to the Supreme Pontiff. As of today, the SSPX (once again) formally has.
(You've also framed the issue in a way that totally omits the real theological, non-liturgical disagreements the SSPX has with Rome, this is not a liturgy dispute and should not be presented as such)
On the contrary, I mentioned that was an issue under Francis. The appointments were well received, especially because they were all Roman parish priests.

Fair enough!

How often do you go to Germany?

Hi Edgar. Just to clarify , the Roman clergy were upset with Pope Leo’s appointments of four new auxiliary bishops in February ?
On the contrary, I mentioned that was an issue under Francis. The appointments were well received, especially because they were all Roman parish priests.
