Have to defend my hockey team- Pope Leo was at Villanova (located in the Philadelphia suburbs) in 1975 when the Flyers last won the Stanley Cup. So perhaps it’s a thoughtful nostalgic gift! Or it could have been because of the brief Flyers fever when they snuck into the playoffs this year unexpectedly after several down years.
But I totally agree that it should have been Gritty to give him the jersey.
It really is a shame that Denver lost out on having a professional baseball team.
