What in heck is going on with that picture of him and the lady?

Looks like greeting by kissing on the cheeks.

Wow, I wonder what the cardinal thinks of Fr. Gea "helping" him with that letter; personally, I would want him to be quiet. Fr. Gea downplaying "romantic entanglements" and comparing them to a real failing, like financial crimes or crimes against minors is not surprising but somehow still shocks me, seeing how little others in the Church think of the alleged victims of clerical sex abuse.

It's almost like a confession before the investigation...

I'm also curious regarding Fr. Gea's call for questioning priestly celibacy, as I don't think it really applies here, given that celibacy for bishops is required not only in the Latin rite, but also in the Eastern rites, and in the Orthodox and Oriental churches.

That phrase "the harm he might cause the Church" is so ugly. Do they not realise that any sin committed has already harmed the Church even if it's never discovered? Even today, even now, people are still seeing the Church as her public reputation alone. That was one thing synodality was actually intended to fix! More work needed.
