Lol, I'm just having some fun. I only get a few of these chances every year to harp on how Nebraska (and the other four provinces) are correct, and it is everyone ELSE that is wrong. :)
I reckon the Ascension link will be re-posted tomorrow with a second edit that the original 2023 post that was updated for 2024 has been updated for 2025?
This is by far the most ridiculously moved feast day, since Ascension Thursday is exactly 40 days after Easter. What is special about the number 43 in the Church?
"They're disbelieving with joy." Is it just me but it seems to be the modern English equivalent of this phrase would quite simply be they saw with "incredible joy." Dr. Scott seemed to come around to it but I think he was over explaining what was most likely a similar colloquialism in the historic Greek. Like Dr. Scott said, "too good to be true." Incredible joy means a joy so great as to be unbelievable.
“And so, much of the Christian life is: I know the truth, I believe, but I just don’t know what to do right now. And much of the Christian life says: you just need to be patient, you need to remember what I have done, you need to be patient to see what I’m going to do.”
I very much needed to hear that last week. So much so that I came back today to hear it again. Thank you.
"We believe in REDICULUS stuff as Catholics, right. Ribbons turning white is nothing for us."
-Amen, Dr. Powell.
*insert Mr. Incredible mad meme*
