Can someone offer a brief explanation for the different mass readings during these last few weeks of lent? Last week I prepared for the passage from Luke that was discussed on the podcast, but at mass on Sunday we read the story of the woman at the well in John. I love that story so its all good but would be good to know in advance what reading will be for what mass. Do other parishes typically anounce this in advance?

The principle for Lent is intended to be that the year A readings can also be used, particularly (exclusively? - not sure) if the Easter catechumens are present. So you will sometimes see deviation from the intended 2025 year C. And sometimes at other times of year priests and lectors simply turn to the wrong page!
