I wonder whether converts from Protestant denominations can partially explain the discrepancy between number of baptisms and number of Church members.

Also, musical lovers and haters should get a kick out of this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fOFZVpIh9k

I watched the documentary yesterday before this podcast came out and I immediately noticed the accent. The first time Ed spoke I believe it was a voiceover without his face and I thought it was him but wasn't sure because of the English accent. I'm glad I'm wasn't imagining things. Even if you hadn't brought it up on the podcast I was going to comment about the accent. That's how much it took me by surprise.

In defense of Ed's pronunciation...I too was an expat as a child and I find I subconsciously adjust my accent to those with whom I am speaking.

With regard to the long report on the family suffering from abuse...I thank you for your compassionate reporting. Some of the responses are a reflection of the behaviors found in mainstream media and in our political discourse, wherein the sin of judging others and finding them guilty is commonplace. Social media (particularly Twitter) has a lynch mob tendency, which is why I refuse to subscribe to it.

Best episode in a long while, gents. Keep up the good work!

We all use different voices in different situations. I speak to my mother & whatever small children I encounter with a higher tone than I use in conversations with other men. I'm confident there is more "Jersey" in J.D.'s voice when he visits the Garden State than he uses in his day-to-day interactions in the Centennial State.

Ed is gaslighting us. Quit it.

Lol, it’s the “r”s. The “r”s get reeeall soft in the documentary vs the podcast. That being said, it’s a good video and glad Ed and the Pillar are out there getting some recognition for their contributions to this story.

The “new digital front for safe environments”- 💯! I know you guys might get crap for banging the drum about this but please don’t stop talking about it. Our technology seems to be one of the devil’s favorite places to gain a foothold in our lives and especially for our spiritual leaders the spiritual battle needs to be fought on this front.

I definitely hear an accent. But I don't think Ed does. He just slips back into it when talking with someone who also has one, like many other people.

I would liken it to when I visit with family from Wisconsin, a Wisconsin accent is more prevalent (especially certain words). It's slightly more than a subtle difference, but not so different that you don't think it's the same person talking.

Great episode, as always. New paid subscriber, look forward to continuing to support and listen. Keep up the great work guys! God bless!
